The main purpose of my visit to MCF is the Mully Model Leadership Workshop. This is my first class, which went well. Here I introduce the workshop, giving its goals and processes. Students will have increased awareness of their leadership style, the MCF servant-leadership type, self-awareness of their individual use of the 24 gifts of the Holy Spirit, and ways to improve their leadership capability by increasing the gifts most associated with leadership: perspective, honesty, courage, and social intelligence.
Today I introduce the workshop to about 140 grade 11 students, spread over two classes and to 10 new teachers of Mully Secondary School.
After lunch we headed out to take Jesse to the airport, but not before the birthday boy celebrations. Jesse turns 17 at MCF Ndalani. His classmates sang Happy Birthday, and MCF ordered a cake (from Nairobi!) for him.
The trip to the airport was uneventful. We stopped at Ananas Mall (pictured) for a pit stop and an early supper. It was a twofer pizza day so Jesse and I sprang for supper as shown. Pictured is Sam the driver and Yvonne the host.
Dropping off Jesse was fine, but when he tried to check in the Airline needed to see the credit card I used to purchased the ticket. Of course I was on my way back to Ndalani, about 30 minutes. Jesse called me and we turned around, fighting the crowded roadway. I went in to the desk, showed proof of purchase, and Jesse was cleared for take off. It was late returning to Ndalani, arriving about midnight. Withe turn-around we were nearly 4 hours returning. The airport is normally about 2.5 hours drive.
All is well that ends well. Needless to say I did not write up my log on the 11the of Feb.
