We had lunch together at my quarters, thanks to Ruth. When David returned to Ndalani on his motorbike he sent this note "The day was great and wonderful. Thanks for your kindness and generosity and love .thank you for your warm welcome and openness, the lunch which we had together was fantastic and it was delicious God bless you abundantly. Please we will continue talking. Thank you for your lecture MULLY MODEL. Good night."
I had two lectures this morning. David joined me from Ndalani for one of the lectures and for lunch. I published his kind note to me to demonstrate how kind and considerate these Kenyans are here especially at MCF, but also my friends in Matheri Valley Slum, in Banana Hill and Riara Ridge. This is a normal kind of note written or spoken. Africa!
After lunch David left, but not before with giving me three beautiful pieces of Maasai bead art, two collars and a wrist band. Gifts to be deeply treasured, thank you David.
I had a lovely afternoon visit with Pastor Josiah, and then was asked to be the speaker at devotions tonight, which I accepted with pleasure. Evening devotions are typically about 30 - 40 minutes long with lots of loud singing, great prayers, and lots of dancing. The enthusiasm, zest and joy of nearly 300 evening students from the Mully College is infectious., I had a ball. I focused on the woman whose had the courage to fight the crowd to simply touch the hem of Jesus' cloak, knowing that that would be enough to be healed from 12 years of marginalization, isolation and suffering due to bleeding.
These young people have nothing compared to the material like we enjoy in Canada. Their government is stable but very questionable, something we in the west, sadly, have had to see for ourselves from that cranky elephant with the long red tie. And yet I find here more hope and positive forward thinking than presently in western nations. Truly I feel gratitude that the rivers of destiny have swept me into this experience called Mully Children's Family.
If anyone wants to be refreshed in faith, joy, and hope, I highly recommend a trip to MCF. You are welcome! I can say simply to people of faith feeling discouraged by our shaking chaotic materialistic world, then you cannot afford not to experience first hand the Mully Model.
