These very hard working people, local men and women work long hard hours in farm labour. Tbey are those that harvest and process the food we all eat at MCF. Next time we offer thanks for the food on the table, I will be had pressed not to think of these lovely, kind happy people. Pastor Josiah interpreted into Kikamba for me as few had any English. The woman on my left is a beneficiary and was proud to say she sang in the Mission Choir all over Canada. She seemed to be the one in charge. A success story right there.
The woman on my right, like the others I had met in the same setting last year. I remembered her well as she gave me the biggest hug when we first met. This year I reciprocated, she laugh hugged me back and the whole group enjoyed the sight of an African embracing a musugu, lauging and cheering.
So then we sang a bit, danced a bit, laughed a lot, prayed a bit and I gave words of support focusing on the gifts of the Holy Spirit they show such as perseverance, zest and teamwork. All that before beakfast at 0800!
This was a great working day. I had three classes totalling about 100 students. Such will be my week days at Yatta. This week I will be entering the data up in the computer lab with computer students and the main teacher Joshua. Long days, and yet the rewards for the students is worth all the energy and gives me zest I did not know I still had!
