Week 5
2 Mar 2025
The day started and ended in worship across 8 time zones. This is the children's story section. We sang and danced, prayed and listened to the Word. I rendered a great sermon on the Word that rescues us when we go adrift. We started around 1000 and the benediction was pronounced at 1315. Good thing the preacher was succinct!
Easy day for me. Lunch and a nap dominated the afternoon. I felt the muse come upon me and wrote up a new Narrative on MCF Yatta Mully College story. Seeing it in writing makes it more impressive than walking around experience the College in person. Lots of phone calls and then it was time for supper. It was time for church in Canada!
Look at the technology making this possible. Here I sit in the darkness of the African night, enjoying my church in Canada, looking at the people whom I love and miss so much! I was touched when I heard Jane reading in her lovely lyrical Kenyan style because this is how I have been living here at Mully Children's Family. Links across the planet. We are one in the Lord! Secondly, I was filled with shivers hearing the Mission Choir of MCF singing the MCF anthem at my dear church, while I watched it at MCF Yatta. It is a representation of the possibility of human solidarity. It seemed like an oasis or even a welcome reprieve from the chaos of a world shuddering with shocking brutality seen even in the office of the cranky elephant living next door (the one wearing an oversized a red tie).
And BZ Tony. I have an image of you with knitting needles and many pairs of socks! Laugh out loud!
