With delight I joined the first morning assembly for high school held at Yatta. Pictured are the grade 11/12 students from Ndalani. The lower grades stayed in Ndalani and these classes were split up as Ndalani is overflowing. MCF Yatta is catching up in population to Ndalani with 600 College students and now 120 High Schoolers.
Last day of teaching with two morning classes. I met in the afternoon with an American research team studying outcomes of MCF. Dr. Sheila Gregory was so glad to meet me again as we share a keen interest in this astounding MCF. We met last year here. An hour discussing MCF and its structures/processes was a great time for us both.
Some social time and made a few plans for the weekend. My plan for the week has been clarified, I have some finishing up to do here and so will stay until Thursday when I will return to MCF Ndalani.
I took this during the evening devotions as it shows the equality of gender that is normalizeed at MCF. This young man is caring for a toddler because the mother is somewhere else. This kind of male mothering is endorsed and promoted, so that young men can enjoy the joys associated with loving a child, like mother does.
Things are always under construction at MCF and here you can see the benches are not yet finished: missing their tops. Doesn't matter too much. The students sit across the bars for a little while, but I did notice they like to stand and sing/pray more often. Maybe I should write a book with the counter title: The Uncomfortable Pew.
