There is nothing like this in the churches that I know in Canada. Here there is a passion and joy that turns into dance and song. The video is only 30 seconds, the church service lasted about 2 hours, much of it filled with movement and the most uplifting singing I have ever heard. Videos are hard to do, but I wanted to leave a little feel of the kind of passion, an uninhibited open passion that the stoic churches of European descent have lost.
I preached the sermon for about 20 - 25 minutes, pretty short by African standards. I focused on the world rejected cornerstone that the Creator picks to led the building of his kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. Given these people know rejection at levels most of us do not know, it was germane to encourage them as being those endorsed by God to lead Kenya into a future better than the past from which they came.
Unexpected and delightful visit over tea with the two Christian maasai pastors. These have been colleagues and friends at MCF for 20 or more years. The maasai are a distinct and unique, proud herdsman. These pastors are delightfully friendly.
The students asked and asked about Jesse, and with the most remarkable technology I was able to link a video chat with many students here at Yatta with Jesse and his dad in Gracefield Quebec. The glee from these students to see and talk with Jesse again was as we say cocolastic!!
