It is thanks to these fine Kenyans for their hospitality that I stay in their very fine comfortable spot in north part of Nairobi. I arrived around 1700, visited and then George and I ate a great supper. Finished the meal off with a fresh banana and a mango. Wow! Tonight I am very tired and looking forward to a sound sleep.
A sweet and bitter day of fare thee well. I had one last paper to print for one of my grade 11 students and was delighted to deliver.
Then Form 3N would not let me leave before they sang four pieces for me, two of which I taped. Brought tears to my eyes.
One boy from Turkana chased after me to tell me he will write a song about me and present it to me next year. More held back tears. Then a series of fare thee well encounters with Dr. Dennis, Helen of the pre-primary school, dozens of hugs from all the 3 year olds, more encounters with students of the primary then secondary school. I sat and laughed with my friend Ishmael, bid good by to Paster Mercy, Anglia, Judy, Rose, Priscilla, and even Dennis the senior beneficiary.
Then we dropped by the Mully College, gave my friend Jerum the led lantern as he needs it far more than me, then many more good bys! Mully College Students who spotted me whoopped my signature woo whoooo, leaving us laughing and waving good bye. A pit stop at Ananas Mall in Thika where I treated my driver and escort to a double large pizza which they will enjoy in Nairobi for supper. Then an uneventful drive to Banana Raini Rd residence, where I met my kind and generous host: my namesake.
